We drove four hours to dinner yesterday

Orlando Blueberry field
Ubered to Bike Shop to pick up a repaired bicycle, yesterday. Passed this Blueberry field on the way home.

We drove four hours to dinner yesterday.

And before that, i logged a nine-mile, one-way bike ride from the local Shopping complex.

Three options:

  1. Drive our van there and load bike in van. Drive home. (no exercise)
  2. Walk to shop, bike home. (not enough time)
  3. Uber to shop, bike home. (a decent compromise)

i can’t and i won’t are enemies

Motivational speakers
Anyone can write a book and self-publish it, but most won’t. Photo: Summer 2017 in Glacier National Park…Lake McDonald in the background with smoke from a forest fire. i am an expert in fear and doubt – it took me 30 years to write the first sentence, two more to finish, and then an additional two more years to have the courage to publish.

You are the CEO of You, Inc.

What do you think a CEO is supposed to do?

Why?

Let me guess.

Your answer is the one you’ve been taught to regurgitate.

But you’re balking.

What are you afraid of?

Are you afraid of going off alone?

Everyone knows straying from the well-worn path, the “tried and true academic recipe”  may lead to failure.

But not straying may lead to regret.

Which do you fear more?

Pick the toughest battle.

Fight regret.

And remember…

i can’t and i won’t are enemies.

i can’t works insidiously to pose as i won’t.

You can’t or you won’t.

Which one is it?

Every morning i weigh myself twice, to ensure accuracy.

i log that, plus the number of hours i slept.

Using the Notes App on the iPhone, it gets loaded into the cloud and it can be accessed from any of my devices.

It’s permanent and a paperless record – to help me see progress as well as identify causes and effects.

Find a million ways to stay motivated.

Confirmed my Family has a busy Saturday morning

family on Highline trail
Two months ago on Highline Trail, Glacier’s most popular trail.

On the second flight home from San Antonio yesterday, i became nauseated about 15 minutes from landing.

So much so that i quickly looked through the seatback pocket for the sickness bag.

Prior to this, i planned to stop at the gym for a workout.

Once i had the bag opened on my lap, i was able to relax from the thought of vomiting on my lap or the floor (which made the urge worse).

While waiting 15 minutes to deplane, i felt better – but still not back to normal – so i skipped the gym.

And as soon as today’s posts are written, i’ll be doing a weekday routine today, Saturday.

Next up: a 40k round-trip bike and hour gym workout – three hours total.

Play the hand you’re dealt.

Morning temps near freezing.

Different from all other trips in the past is having a cross country runner as a running partner for the first time.
