Do you see what i see?

16-second video: Verbal summary for why i’m in this chair.

Two reasons for sitting here: Left eye prognosis. Right eye prognosis, including a possible Vitrectomy.
cluster of opaque floaters definition
Right eye has a cluster of opaque floaters over the macula. i can see but the effect is similar to a cataract — cloudy vision. There is a sign of a beginning cataract, but the cataract surgeon and Dr Kumar believe i am years away from cataract surgery in the right eye.

Left eye prognosis: Everything from the two retina repair surguries looks great. Right eye prognosis: Dr Kumar believes a vitrectomy (removing the vitreous and the opaque floaters cluster over the macula–and then replacing the vitreous with appropriate fluid) would come with a high risk of tearing the retina during the vitrectomy. He advises against any action now.

Doctor Kumar said, “Everything looks great. See you next Winter.”

Walk yourself

Facebook post screenshot about walking
Love this sentiment.

Above all, do not lose your desire to walk. Everyday, I walk myself into a state of well-being and walk away from every illness. I have walked myself into my best thoughts, and I know of no thought so burdensome that one cannot walk away from it. But by sitting still, and the more one sits still, the closer one comes to feeling ill. Thus if one just keeps on walking, everything will be all right.”

~Søren Kierkegaard

My version…

“Walk like you mean it.”

Eye surgery followup, body

Doctor office lobby
Dr Kumar’s office manager’s second book. Photo: sitting in a smaller, darker waiting room. Most people in this room have dilated eyes.

Vision is good:

20/20 right eye

20/25 left eye

Eye pressure within normal range in both eyes.

Now it’s a wait in this room (photo above) to go to a third room, the exam room where i’ll see Dr Kumar.

Don’t pursue comfort. Pursue vibrancy.

The more i sit, the more i want to sit.

The more i move, the more i want to move.
