Gotta figure out how to make it work. Non-negotiable.

A day in the life of a professional speaker…

Awaken in a hotel room I’ll never see again, totally aware it’s below freezing outside.

Bathroom. Pray. Make some coffee. Check emails. Read. Protein bar.

Practice presentation.

Write.

Practice presentation.

Dress for outdoor run.

Run.

We’ve covered mental and physical, now scoot over to emotional (spiritual), click go.

Kiss our behind, devil

un-ladylike, unsportsman like – and so is the devil

Kiss our behind, devil. It’s the devil that temps us, and ultimately convinces us, to quit.

Hey devil, you lost another battle last night. Sorry. Not trying to rub it in, but I’m definitely hinting to you that you can kiss my butt and move on. You’re wasting your time here.

Ran five miles this morning (and it’s still morning as I write this). Got nine hours of sleep last night.

Life is good… when we refuse to quit and when we know what’s important in our life, and we consistently deliver on it.

Running and blogging… pick only one today

images of jeff noel are intended to show the reality of (and association with) daily life

Running and blogging… this morning it’s one or the other. The choice was easy based on:

  • Had five solid running days last week
  • jeff noel’s promise is daily blogging, not daily running
  • a day from running can be seen as active rest
  • rest is way under rated
  • so is living up to our promises

Remain amazed with all the choices in front of us. All day. Every day.

Was forced into a rare choice this morning

exercise while traveling
…darkness on the departure from The Renaissance
exercise
…and light upon return to The Renaissance

Was forced into a rare choice this morning. Run or write. Usually, both are possible before heading out the door for work.

The odds of writing later in the day are much greater than the odds of running. I went with the odds.
