Progress, even slowly, is still progress

WMA 2015 Masters World Track Championships
Yesterday, June 13, 2015.

Progress, even slowly, is still progress.

An official USA team top is required for all Team USA competitors. Ordered it yesterday at the request of the organizers.

Looking forward to getting back on the track (sidewalk) again tomorrow morning.

Setbacks are gifts even if they don’t seem so

Filed near Tibet Butler Nature Preserve
A few days ago looking north. The far tree line behind the five sticks, shades the sidewalk i use as a track.

We are given setbacks to keep us honest.

Yesterday’s track workout was the first in 11 days. And this morning is day nine of a 10-day Amoxicillin prescription.

To lose 11 days speed training with two big track meetsĀ in the next two months is a decent setback.

Am grateful it wasn’t from an injury, which might make competing in Nationals and Worlds out of the question.

Plan on setbacks

Plan on setbacks. And plan on them leaving you feeling trapped.

It’s the only way to manage our sanity when the goal is big and has a deadline.

And while the deadline sometimes is non-negotiable, the goal (great health) always is non-negotiable.

World’s is in August.

A week setback doesn’t ruin things, but a week of serious preparation lost cannot be regained. Move forward anyway. Refuse to give in because it gets more difficult.

Yesterday marked the half-way point of the 10-day course of Amoxicillin. It was a rest day, but felt a need for movement.
