Which would you rather be? Haven’t asked this in a year, maybe two (or three):

Would you rather be the fastest of the slowest? Or the slowest of the fastest?

No right or wrong answer, and our answer accurately describes our approach to life – which again, is neither right nor wrong.

The insight is that we ought to know ourselves and what our answer implies.

And milk it for all it’s worth, or change it.

Planning ahead doesn’t always work, but it’s better than the alternative.

Some things in life are so simple we dismiss them.

This is our greatest opportunity – to make common sense common in our life.

Road trip to Iowa: early days, which are also long days. No time for exercise.

Anticipating this I planned for today and tomorrow to be planned rest days. No guilt. Only joy in seeing a plan come together.

What I was asking at Mid Life Celebration is simply what’s crossing my mind now. In Atlanta waiting for a smaller jet to Iowa.

No time to write five blogs before heading to Orlando airport a few hours ago.

But did have time to run a sub-six minute mile (5:53).

And mow the lawn, do weed control, pool stuff (including a dip), and walk Cooper.

Point is, today is a gift.

Competition is a good fire starter

Sitting at the Kissimmee Coliseum of Comics watching our Son play in a card game tournament, it’s a great reminder why competition is so important.

Where there’s drive, there’s motivation.

No drive, no long term staying power.

This morning’s run and gym workout were the last thing I wanted to do, but there’s a drive that fuels the just-do-it mantra.

Health is wealth.

Invest heavily, no?

My health prediction was spot on. Three weeks ago this post predicted that I either lost or won by a couple hundredths of a second.

Didin’t check the official results until last night.

Freaky how expert we become when we invest thousands of hours into something.
