A huge benefit to living balanced is the ability to prioritize fairly easily and intuitively. Meaning if something feels off balance, even just a little, we can spend our energy getting back into synch.

Family time or exercise?

Both, even with extremely limited time.

Windermere 5k one morning, gym afterwards, dinner together at Epcot later, a serious father/son talk, and five mile run yesterday.

To cap off those glorious 36 hours, the talk of a lifetime before driving to the airport yesterday afternoon.

The harder we work, the luckier we get.

Ten years ago this event was the first 5k ever

 

A decade ago, the first 5k was run in 22:10.

Real life in real time…

Preparation for yesterday’s 5k felt completely out of synch. One very slow, freezing, 30-minute jog in Winnipeg in the past week.

Arrived for the 5k and didn’t even feel like warming up.

So the bar was set low – running 22:10 seemed like a fair goal.

Dang, long distance travel, freezing cold temps, and long work days are really a tough mountain to climb.

The up side?

Legs will be very rested for the 5k in two days.

Lungs?

Pretty sure they are not up for what the legs will want to do.

Should be interesting, and hopefully, fun.
