Wasn’t feeling it at the gym or from her

Starbucks products
Yesterday, the antithesis of food and alcoholic drink photos we see on Facebook.

Laptop at Starbucks
The table next to me…what first caught my eye was the unsecure laptop. Yoga mat on right, along with a large Starbucks bag on left (i didn’t peek, but wish i would have).

Then the stickers fascinated me.

When she returned from the restroom, she sat on the other side of the table. More stickers.

Flipped the photo to be able to read the stickers.

Starbucks
Context.

Wasn’t feeling it at the gym, but plowed through it.

Felt good when done.

Always does.

On the ride home, stopped at Starbucks for a sandwich (used Apple pay because i carry no wallet), and afterward snapped the photo above.

There was also a Daytimer type organizer next to the laptop, jammed and overflowing with papers. And a notebook, the front cover plastered with inspirational sayings.

Be Bold.

Seize the Day.

You Rock.

Courage.

Positive Attitude.

Be the Change.

Etc.

So i asked, “What are you working on?”

To my ear, her comments were as unfocused as her organizer appeared to be disorganized.

i tried, and failed, to have a meaningful conversation.

The  woman – from India, with no car and she carried a yoga mat into Starbucks –  claimed to be a medium, but she left me unimpressed on several levels.

Wasn’t feeling it from her.

The opportunity to try (unsuccessfully) to make her day wasn’t lost on me. Do your best and let the rest go.

Do your best and let the rest go.

Surrender is a great tool.

i use it all the time.

Age-related symptoms become more frequent

Disney Institute Keynote Speakers
Back in 2008 (old Disney Institute logo) when i wore sunglasses and contact lenses. Our son (now 17) has grown about two feet since this photo.

In the past year or so, i can’t tell if i’m tired or if my eyes are simply drier than normal, and does the dryness create an effect that mimicks being tired?

Dry eye syndrome or keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS) is something i just Googled. Probably something else since the inflammation and redness aren’t symptoms.

This article was informative.

Diet and exercise is all about losing weight

Found last night using Google for Disney Institute.

Diet and exercise is all about losing weight.

Until it’s not.

And trust me, it’s not.

Confirmed my Family has a busy Saturday morning

family on Highline trail
Two months ago on Highline Trail, Glacier’s most popular trail.

On the second flight home from San Antonio yesterday, i became nauseated about 15 minutes from landing.

So much so that i quickly looked through the seatback pocket for the sickness bag.

Prior to this, i planned to stop at the gym for a workout.

Once i had the bag opened on my lap, i was able to relax from the thought of vomiting on my lap or the floor (which made the urge worse).

While waiting 15 minutes to deplane, i felt better – but still not back to normal – so i skipped the gym.

And as soon as today’s posts are written, i’ll be doing a weekday routine today, Saturday.

Next up: a 40k round-trip bike and hour gym workout – three hours total.

Play the hand you’re dealt.

To exercise or not to exercise

Top Disney Keynote Speakers
Some of my neighbors back home.

When traveling, it’s not uncommon for me to forgo exercise.

This decision rests largely on the length of the work day.

A keynote or half-day engagement makes exercise almost guaranteed.

A full-day engagement literally guarantees no exercise.

i plan for and accept whatever cards i’m dealt.

And i vow to never let enough time go between exercise that i fall into giving up exercise.
