Disney Institute Leadership Excellence, body

the word DREAM etched into a blue Mickey Mouse shaped head
This is a snapshot of one of my home office bookshelves. DREAM is a 1980’s Walt Disney World acronym: Disney Resort Experiences Are Magic. The Blue DREAM Mickey Mouse head was the centerpiece logo from an intentional cork board every department was given to communicate this initiative. The vision was clear, Magic for every Guest. When the cork boards got removed permanently, i salvaged the logo.

We begin our content with a profoundly simple yet simply profound leadership catalyst…

Vision.

What’s the difference between a vision and a vision statement?

Answer: Your future.

Disney’s Approach to Employee Engagement.

Thesis statement…

Culture by design, not by default.

Every organization has a corporate culture. Few (almost none) are by design.

Next, we ‘operationalize’ (form foundational corporate habits) our culture using…

Language and Symbols, Heritage and Traditions, Traits and Behaviors, Shared Values.
