How can you not?

screen time paradox
And not only live more, move more.

How can you not?

i’ll share the secret.

You can not because you make it so easy not to.

Not doing is a daily habit and ritual.

Defaulting to poor choices (fast food, processed foods, sugar, big portions, etc) is super easy too.

And not only easy, enjoyable.

Deadly.

This happens whether you are well or not

discomfort
Truth. Run to it. Embrace it. Love it.

This happens whether you are well or not.

What happens?

Discomfort.

You either fight the battle to get and stay healthy or you fight the battle to recover from or eliminate the negative side-effects from illness, injury and poor health habits.

The good news?

You get to pick which discomfort you want to be intimate with.

What makes common sense decently uncommon?

healthy teens
Do any of the three believe the other two friends are significantly smarter.

Do you think you will be better able to excel at whatever your work is if you exercise regularly or if you don’t?

The challenge with being excellent is that you will carry a lifetime of desire with you to sustain that momentum for your lifetime. Yet life comes with temptations, unhealthy shortcuts, harmful distractions designed to derail excellence. The great news is that you can develop, adjust, and hone your habits and rituals to ensure your foundation remains solid.

The opposite of excellence is to carry the weight of poor choices and lack of hope with you for a lifetime. You can imagine how poor choices compound over time.

Like the theme in yesterday’s posts – waiting and doing nothing are the twin siblings for self-destruction.

Go.

Be amazed and be amazing.

You are worthy. You are deserving. And nothing will ever change that.

Life is not black and white

Wild Goose Island black and white
A black and white (mono) photo.

Life is not black and white, right?

A fair amount of grey area.

Except for this…

We are born and at some point we die.

Perhaps we can influence our health to allow us to better weather life’s storms.

PS. Yes, i know this is difficult challenging. Glacier National Park (nature, the wild) reminds me how truly challenging it is to survive from one day to the next.

Futile is a powerful word

biking near Disney World
Yesterday morning. We rode seven miles after jogging two mailboxes.

When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.   – conventional thinking

Not gonna lie, chocolate is wonderful.

A glass of red or white wine can be too.

You’re going to have to discover and decide if you can handle an occasional treat or if you are addicted.

Big difference.

i know.

Addicted to alcohol.

This stinks because occasional wine could be lovely, but i’ll never have that luxury again.

And by the way, i love the confidence my victory brings.

Chocolate? Not addicted to it, but could become addicted.

Futile is a powerful word.

Be careful what wisdom you embrace.

Some wisdom is really a clever excuse to cave.
