The physical way

Apple Watch fitness screenshot
Warmup for 3.5 miles, then three miles of fartlek. Then five more miles to complete an 11.5-mile day.

The physical way is as simple as it sounds.

Be physical…

Endurance.

Strength.

Rest.

Fuel.

Stretch.

Core.

Motivation.

Walk

Apple Watch fitness screen
Six miles before 930am. It just happens. It’s not a goal, not the mileage. Walking is the goal. When it’s with Cheryl, like today, it’s better.

We walked six miles together.

Then i walked four more miles in the yard.

In case it isn’t obvious, walking is good exercise.

Also in case it isn’t obvious, movement is what our body is designed for.

If we were designed to sit, we’d probably be a rock.

Can renters be trusted?

38-second video: Trust and an awkward question.

Don’t forget about risks.

Risks are a great motivational fuel.

Taking risks and avoiding risks. Both are supremely important to an owner.

Every human is the owner/occupant of their body.

Yet some humans appear, for whatever reason(s), to be renters not owners.

Can renters be trusted?

College Weekend, Physically – Sunday

26-second video: capitalizing on your membership benefits?

Reminded last night as we walked to dinner…someone i love dearly fell flat on the sidewalk. Please remember that being physically vibrant is not about losing weight. Being vibrant is about being able to weather life’s storms and celebrating life’s fair-weather festivals.

All day.

Every day.

Heed the warning signs

A young black bear near Two Dog Flats. Encountered from the rental car.

Heed the warning signs.

But do not become paralyzed by publicized risk.

Wisdom comes from experience. Experience comes from making mistakes.

Experience tells you that your body is a temple housing everything keeping you alive.

Experience reveals that neglect is a slow and insidious predator. Just look at the people one and two generations ahead of you.

Learn from the ones who get and stay healthy for a lifetime. To not learn from them is one of life’s biggest unpublicized risks.
