Twice around Disneyland

Daylight comes early in Anaheim.
First lap.

To be at Disneyland and walk/run around the entire complex is a thrilling non-negotiable tradition.

Have to.

How can you not?

To do this at Walt Disney World would require an approximately 40-mile walk and jog for one lap. To do WDW twice is 80 miles+-.

Yesterday’s boredom

Disney toys on a rock
Changes what you see, eh?

You handled yesterday’s boredom well.

Love how you took what was happening (boredom with routine) and channeled it into something that didn’t feel like work.

This is how you find a million ways to stay motivated….be willing to flex when it is appropriate. It is almost always appropriate.

Note: This is me talking to me.

Who’s in your ring of motivation?

My Disney Cast Member 20 years of service ring. Both male and female 20-year Cast Members may choose between a Disney Watch or a Disney Ring. Not a watch person nor a ring person. Picked the ring.

Who’s in your ring of motivation?

Motivated people generally associate with other similarly motivated people.

As always, we are mindful of three insights:

  1. There’s an exception to every rule
  2. Be careful what you wish for
  3. “You’re not an expert” mentality

Motivation is tricky

Apple fitness on Apple Watch
Sitting at HQ, 6:26 AM, writing five daily, differently-themed blog posts.

Motivation is tricky.

Why?

Because you need to find a million ways to stay motivated.

Generally, human motivation has a shelf life.

Why?

We get bored.

Our interest expires.

Our results go bad.

Others get ahead of us, frustrating our self-confidence.

Pro-tip: make your burning motivation to succeed – make it for someone else. My motivation is to be an example not a warning. Our son must see a true-life example of physical vibrancy at all life stages. And if he doesn’t see it from me, who’s gonna show him? Who’s he gonna trust?

Insight: Physical vibrancy is one-fifth of the recipe for personal vibrancy.
