The constant challenge to find time to exercise

The constant challenge to find time to exercise is enough to make a sane person lose their mind. (Tweet that)

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

Had the guts but didn’t have the time

Top Disney Leadership Speaker
Yesterday’s date is in the upper right. i love when there is tangible proof of the facts.

Calling an audible. This blog is about our physical health, but i’m using this space today to continue a business story from yesterday.

Will i have the guts to use this example?

That’s what i asked yesterday. Yes, i was prepared to use it. But no, i didn’t.

Here’s why.

Time.

There wasn’t enough time.

Why?

Because something unpredictable happened, and since the client and i were clear on the vision (end goal), i flexed to take maximum advantage of the unplanned opportunity.

We stumbled upon something that really resonated with the client and it happened 75% of the way through our agenda. It was glorious. Not only because we discovered it, but because we agreed to sacrifice the remaining planned agenda to take advantage of the amazing, unplanned opportunity.

Note: i did not intentionally take the Apple Watch photo above. Somehow, it happened though, right as we had solidified unity on a tangible group goal – a clear, concise, and compelling roadmap for leadership alignment.

We broke a high temperature record for November 9. In 1911 the record high was recorded at 90.  Yesterday we hit 91.

The critical success factor for thriving is to stop making excuses about things no one can control. (Tweet that)

Like yesterday, the record high temperature.

Stay hydrated, run without the sun, and find a million creative ways to stay motivated.

Take your time but hurry up

Books on a shelf
1001 “Must Read” Books. Seriously. What changes?

Postponing getting active?

For when?

The unlimited, never-ending patience we have for postponing our healthy, vibrant living is so deadly.

Think of it this way with our day to day habits…

Our daily impatience is manifested in our pace. We hurry when we drive. We hurry at work. And hurrying is a sign of worrying. Worrying is a sign we are afraid of something.

Fear.

What are we afraid of?

Becoming so vibrant that all our poor health habits, our sources of pleasure and relief, will have to be abandoned, for good?

It’s never too late to change.

The time will pass anyway

Go.

People are depending on you.

Depend on yourself.

Be an example, not a warning, as you age.

The few, the smart, the hopeful

William Wallace quote
Yesterday from, of all places, a Comic Book store.

If you’ve traveled here via Mid Life Celebration, thank you.

Why thank you?

Because if you’ve navigated from MLC you are likely to click through the next three blogs.

What this tells me is you get it.

You get the interconnectedness between mind, body, spirit, work, and home.

There’s even a chance you believe that balance is not a myth.

It’s cool to know there are others who believe in not accepting “balance is not possible”.
