18th year eve, body

To produce consistent, long-term results you must do the reps.

Repetition.

Key success factor.

With physical vibrancy.

With writing.

While blogging on this site began in 2008, the daily streak without missing a single day began April Fools Day 2009.

Impossible to believe tomorrow starts year 18. It was supposed to last 100 days only. Ending July 09, 2009.

Yet here we are. March 31, 2026.

One-week countdown, body

Mickey Mouse head watering can

In the history of daily blogging, i had at one time never written five daily, differently-themed blog posts.

Until one day…

A crazy idea appeared.

How about committing to a ridiculous, lofty goal to write five daily, differently-themed blog posts for 100 consecutive days?

And, let’s pick an equally crazy calendar day to commemorate, and perhaps validate, my absurdity.

If it wasn’t for a 30-year old goal, long abandoned and forgotten about, that became a new-found desire to do what i promised to do 30 years prior…

Post titles brainstorm list, body

One of the chronic ‘feels like work’ blogging challenges are the six daily blog administrative requirements (tasks). Then multiply this five times per day. So six admin tasks become 30 daily admin tasks. Every. Single. Day. And all this doesn’t even mention the part about writing five daily, differently-themed blog posts.

  1. Blog titles
  2. Blog categories
  3. Blog tag words
  4. Embedding hyperlinks
  5. Photo (and/or video) selection, alt text, and captions
  6. Blog scheduling

If there was a simple, scalable way to do those six things five times per day, wow…

Because the writing is the easy part for me.

Now, back to today’s blog post title:

When did you write your first blog post?

Daily, before heading out for a run.

But the original first blog post?

Had to dig a little….

Started preparing for the website infrastructure in 2007.

Opened a GoDaddy account in early 2008.

Started buying domain names immediately.

The two photos above reveal MidLifeCelebration and Lane8 began November 2008.

This is fun to write about.
