Yesterday, ran the fastest mile of the year so far (to celebrate turning 54)

 

Ever wonder if we’re selling ourselves short as we age?

Me too.

And the longer (and more faithfully) we pursue the answer, the clearer the answer becomes.

We probably are very tempted to believe aging is a downhill trip.

That’s what I thought as a child and teen.

Fast forward four decades…

Some people don’t buy it, won’t buy it, and even dedicate their lives to prove it.

Ran the fastest mile of the year so far.

Very glad you are one of the people reading this and journeying forward.

The process of aging is interesting because it begs a few questions and observations:

What is aging?

Can it be slowed?

Can one physical setback be enough to quit?

At the end of the day, time waits for no one.

It is wise to expect setbacks as normal, and unavoidable.

Like mother nature and her occasional severe weather – this too shall pass.

Incumbent on us to be prepared, ride it out, recover quickly.

And enjoy the subsequently beautiful weather.

As we get older don’t let down days get you down, no matter how tempting. Just 48 hours ago, taught through a several hours-long sharp pain below the belt. Then yesterday, on my 54th birthday, went to the Doctor to confirm an inguinal hernia.

Yeeeeee – haaaaaaa!!!!!

How cool is that? Happy birthday!

Seriously though. This happens to everyone.
