Hawai’i may be too far away, unless it happens in Summer

We began on the back porch, in the dark.

Disney Institute Engagement class
Disney Institute Engagement class was down the hall from my writing location. Small world after all.

Disney Institute is conducting a four-day Employee Engagement professional development session at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort.

A friend, fellow business advisor, and potential liaison to Hawaiian business opportunities is attending from Hawai’i.

We met in 2013 while i taught a Disney Institute Quality Service class.

We met yesterday to walk and catch up in person.

i remain mindful it’s between 14-18 hours to travel Orlando to Hawai’i.

Walked so we could write

Disney's Boardwalk Resort
We walked to Epcot yesterday, an off-day for exercise. Button is intentionally in photo.

Epcot Innoventions West
Our destination.

After Lectoring (and Cheryl served as EMHC) at 8:45am Mass, our son and i visited Epcot for lunch and to write. Day 31 of an epic 365-day writing challenge.

All told, we walked three miles. A nice break from running.

What a joy to be able to ride a bicycle to Disney’s Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom the day after Hurricane Matthew
Yesterday morning, Magic Kingdom the day after Hurricane Matthew.

What a joy to be able to ride a bicycle to Disney’s Magic Kingdom. However, yesterday i stopped and parked my bike at Disney University and jogged the rest of the way.

Still feeling tired from a business trip and Hurricane Matthew the day before. Biking allowed an easier warm up for running.

Last night was the first night all week i got eight hours of sleep.

And so it goes.

The epic missed wellness opportunity

Hurricane Matthew over Central Florida
Yesterday’s Hurricane Matthew was not a valid excuse. Figure it out in creative ways.

The epic missed wellness opportunity.

It’s this simple – we habitually fail to let go of something in our life. But we continue to proclaim we want to recommit to getting healthy.

Think about it.

We are going to have to stop doing something (that takes our time) to start doing something else (which also takes our time).

We do not get more time. Something has to give in order to get.

Wellness is a daily investment in our time and energy (and possibly money).

Time is the biggest challenge because we are never going to get more than 24 hours a day.

This fact makes perfect sense.

Our mediocre efforts are shouting, “I have no idea what you’re talking about!”

Not joking when i say Walt Disney World is our hometown

Reedy Creek fire department
Stopped by to write a little on my way home yesterday.

Not joking when i say Walt Disney World is our hometown. Driving home from Orlando airport yesterday afternoon, i stopped at one of our hometown fire stations (there are four) to continue writing the first Disney business book.
