Who do you want to change?

Who do you want to change, and how do you want to change them?

You know those organizations that are aiming to be the best in their category? i prefer not to work with them but rather to work with organizations that want to become the category.

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

This website is about our physical health. To easily and safely leave this site to read today’s post on jeff’s spiritual health website, click here.

But there’s just not enough time today

Didn’t have time to run yesterday. Probably not going to get to do it this morning either. If it weren’t for the determination to write five daily, differently-themed blogs, the odds of running would be exponentially greater today.

And so it goes…

Every morning jeff writes five different, short, and pithy posts about the challenging and wonderful balance between:

mind • body • spirit • work • home

All five websites are seamlessly connected by a convenient and easy to click link to go to the next topic.

Try it below if you never done it, or if it’s been awhile.

What journey are you on?

just a moment in time… insignificant without context

We normally think of exercise as being purely physical.

But writing everyday is also a type of exercise.

Anything done regularly and for a long time dramatically increases the odds for transformation.

For example, 10 years of running led to a trip to the 2009 Masters Track & Field World Championships in Finland.

What will five more of writing lead to? An inconsequential question to you, right? So how about these two…

What journey are you on? Where do dream of being five years from today?

With five solid topics to pick from for the next book…

Do we really know what turns us on? What motivates us?

Do we have a project that compels us to keep moving forward?

Can’t imagine not having answers to those three questions.

With five solid topics to pick from for the next book, the leading contender at this time is ‘body – our physical responsibility’.

Three things running can teach us about writing

Huge rut on Florida dirt road
Out running, spotted a huge rut the driver never saw coming

Three things running can teach us about writing:

  1. We do it because we know, undeniably, it helps us
  2. Not everyday is going to be a top performance
  3. While others criticize our art, we wake up, shut up, put up

It matters little to walk somewhere to preach, if not the whole walk is the preaching.
