Lean into discomfort, example

21-second 2020 video: Recorded this video maybe an hour before today’s previous MLC post’s video.

How we react to being alone and quiet measures our life’s quality. A ‘disappointment’ became a revelation.

When i couldn’t run without pain, the revelation eventually appeared.

i love running fast.

Thought i couldn’t let go of what i love.

But more than running fast, a revelation…

i simply love to run, at any speed.

And when that was not possible, the revelation appeared.

It’s too close to see

10-second video: The first priority of the 19 architectural blueprints is hidden for most of our lives.

The first priority of the 19 architectural blueprints is overlooked because of its simplicity and familiarity.

You will likely discover it on your own, many years from now.

Or, you can trust me and start over-focusing on it decades in advance.

Either way, it’s your choice.

Insidiously self-destructing

6-second 2020 video: It’s human to do these two things occasionally. To do them habitually is self-defeating.

Two self-defeating behaviors:

  1. Waiting
  2. Doing nothing

Different yet the same

9-second 2020 video: The Garden Wall, Bishops Cap, and Pollock Mountain from Mt Oberlin trail.

Photo: From a mile lower in elevation and from the opposite side of the Continental Divide. Driving back to West Glacier for the night. Looking back at The West side’s Garden Wall and Mt Gould. What i saw from Piegan’s summit and what you see here are dramatically opposite, even though we are looking at the same geographical location.

When you change what you see, what you see changes.

Siyeh Pass

23-second 2020 video: Siyeh Pass is the saddle between Mt Siyeh (L) and Matahpi Peak (R), out of sight.

Looking down on Siyeh Pass in the video, the territory’s enormity is lost. And it almost looks like you could scale Siyeh by walking up the right side’s gentle slope. There is no climbing book saying it’s possible. But it looks possible from the video. This is one of Glacier’s elements that make it alluring to me – up close it’s ruggedly wild and untamed.
