How hard is it to write a relatively short and simple blog post about something you’ve experienced?

Not hard.

Then why was it impossible to do it every day?

Maybe it was because you wanted to write five daily posts.

But you had an end date (100 days from the launch).

And you had a compelling reason.

Do the reps.

Practice writing.

Practice by doing it.

You don’t sign up for a 5k, do nothing, and then six months later show up to run for the first time ever.

Same with writing a book.

Note: Never saw the ‘addiction’ to writing coming. It’s been nearly 14 consecutive years without missing a single day. An unofficial world record by nearly 50% of the official world record (17,212 posts).

Physical 2021 wins:

  1. Maintained physical vibrancy all day, every day
  2. Gradually increased jogging distance from 100 meters/day
  3. Reached four miles continuous jogging without foot pain
  4. Did 10 pull ups for 1st time in years
  5. Ran 7:48/mile pace for short stretch

Context: An 8-minute mile is a pedestrian pace. As a sprinter, my 5k PR is 18:32 (5:59/mile for 3 consecutive miles).

A member since 2005? One of my hacks is to be part of a community that values the same things as me. USATF values running, jumping, and throwing, at any age.

What?

Today is the fourth of four Run Disney events this week, the 26.2 mile Disney marathon.

Finishing your first marathon is not that great of an accomplishment.

Wait, what?!

Why?

Because it’s only the starting line for the rest of your life.

Your real marathon is staying healthy all the rest of the days of your life.

You are amazing for starting, congratulations.

Now the real work begins.

Stay healthy, have fun.
