2009 World Championships

Lahti, Finland…2009 Senior Olympics…

Many readers are not familiar with what happened in 2009. This jeff noel blog was still in relative infancy.

But in 2009, my impossible goal was about to become reality.

What started out as the infamous, one-mailbox-a-day for a week wellness challenge, had morphed into the pursuit of a long lost childhood dream.

Masters World Championships 2011

Will never forget trading my 2009 Team USA jersey with a Finnish runner, at his request…it was an incredible ‘Olympic spirit moment’…

Rarely held on American soil, the 2011 Masters Track & Field World Championships will be held July 6-17, 2011 in Sacramento, California.

I will probably not be there.

Too much, too soon.

Or, maybe a whole new way to approach world class performance.

We’ll have to wait and see.

National Championships in 2011

Missed it last year too…

The 2011 Master’s Track & Field Indoor National Championships will be held in Albuquerque, New Mexico, March 4-6.

I will not be there.

Wellness Challenge Continues

Just another day at ‘the office’…

The most basic of questions, okay? Have you completely given up on wellness, well-being and your personal responsibility to managing your health?

This week, I began the one-mailbox-a-day-for-a week wellness challenge with our son (10).

How can any of us do anything less?

The 2012 Olympic Team USA Men’s & Women’s Track & Field coaches were named yesterday by the USATF.

While this well-being blog is not a runners blog, there are quite a few running references, because that’s how I exercise.

At the top of the Iowa hill during Monday’s run, I stopped to catch the sunset (on my sunglasses) and to take a peek at the stone quarry (background).

And then, on purpose, I caught the moon rise & the sunset within inches of each other.

Live your life. Have fun. Deal with your pain. Get help when you need too. Go for a run, a walk, a swim, whatever, just go. No excuses. Okay? Run (really slowly) one mailbox a day for week. You can do that, right?
