Who will slay your fears?

Disney Parade dragon
Yesterday. The dragon looks angry.

Disney Parade dragon
Fire-breathing dragons are like monsters under our bed – made up fantasies in our head.

Disney Parade dragon
Fire-breathing dragon in our head.

Disney Parade dragon
Fire-breathing dragon in real life. More like a hair-ball.

Who will slay your fears?

Hint: You’ve walked a mile in their shoes.

We have the power to fill our lives with the things that deserve to be there.  – Laura Vanderkam

But i don’t have time to watch a video longer than two minutes.

Eating way too much sugar because

High School holiday concert
Between Thanksgiving and Christmas is a great time to over-indulge in sugar. Above, last night’s High School Christmas Concert.

Eating way too much sugar because…

Of a list a mile long.

Figure it out.

Heading out in 30 minutes for a three-hour exercise opportunity.

Would you like a sugar-laden nightcap?

dessert
Last night i was asked if i wanted Tiramisu.

There will always be good excuses reasoning excuses for why today is not a good day to exercise and avoid sugar.

Three days ago (Friday) i had a groin pain, so i “rested”.

Right now (Monday) it’s 37 degrees.

i dislike cold weather.

But i dislike going too many days without exercising even more.

So i’m “looking forward to” a really cold 40k round-trip bike ride to the gym.

Cravings and habits are synonymous

Blueberries
Apples are great right now. Blueberries from South America are coming into season too. Pictured are jumbo (left) and regular.

Fresh fruit at the peak of ripeness is my go-to defense against sugar cravings (habits).

Apples from Washington State are really coming into season.

By the way, rationalizing that sweets are justifiable because we work so hard, etc, etc, is also a habit.
