Why did I wait so long to make the obvious move? Because the New Balance 473’s that worked for a decade were discontinued in 2010. Bought two pairs of Asics in 2011, but the honeymoon was over quickly. So I found three old pairs of 473’s that hadn’t been donated to Good Will.

I’d buy four pairs at once and retire one pair every three months. Since I no longer log the milage I did a few years ago, they actually held me over for a year…

Running update at Mid Life Celebration. Ran a 5:50 mile yesterday morning, with splits of 2:56 and 2:54. And did this without having to bend over as if I was about to collapse.
