Hope and faith round two. Hope the calf pain will go away. Not sure i have faith it will happen before Nationals in 12 days.

And even if it does, the physical conditioning is diminished due to inactivity.

Such is life.

As a small compromise, Chapin and i casually biked the past two mornings.

Many reasons never get discovered, and the lesson never learned, because we quit.

Only 13 days before Nationals. Sure, i could literally cry from the disappointment. But instead, i will focus on, and rejoice in, the journey.

After all, all of life is a journey.

Have been fighting this potential reality for exactly 18 days, since Father’s Day.

The lower right calf pain from The Sunshine State Games is back. Yesterday’s eight-mile walk-run-walk on the beach was far too painful for world class training.

And just yesterday, enter Jenny Simpson’s words of wisdom.

On yesterday morning’s first run on Sanibel Island, the pain kicked in big time at mile six, during a three-minute half-mile interval.

With Nationals and World’s looming, where i wanted to be and where i am are far apart.

Wisdom is knowing the real goal is to simply to be able to run freely, and pain-free.
