Little rest for the driven?

Disney Customer Service Keynote Speakers
Time for lights out. Above, this was the last photo i took on the final night of The Osborne Dancing Spectacle of Lights.

Lights out.

i really need to get a grip on my sleeping habits. For two or three months now it’s been challenging (nearly nonexistent) to get eight hours per night.

Finding the need to take a mid-day nap of anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour; whatever my work load allows.

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

Sleep is a commonly neglected battle

Yesterday i caught the time at a fun time. Getting decent rest is not as easy as 1, 2, 3.

Sleep is a commonly neglected battle. Caffeine (and other drug) consumption, unlimited entertainment options, stress, pressure – over time – slowly erode our sleep habits. As CEO of You, Inc, this is your responsibility to address and correct. Even if it takes years.

PS. This is me talking to me. The battle to overcome excuses and never-ending challenges is real.

Dear Son, one mailbox a day can be challenging

Orlando Holy Family Church
Yesterday, Sunday, 8:30am

One mailbox a day can be challenging. Why? Because it’s not part of our routine. Not a habit. Not yet. So we missed it in the morning. We forgot before dinner. We forgot after dinner too. This is why habits – good or bad – control our destiny.

Perception outweighs reality

Yesterday morning, a spontaneous photo – a metaphor on so many levels.

The High School Math teacher asked how i stay so fit. The French teacher said, “I see you running everyday.”

Truth be told, i run Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

To stay fit (since 1999) i run, walk, go to the gym, stretch, sleep decently, and make (mostly) good food choices for quality and quantity, and i find a million ways to stay motivated.

The last one, i forgot to mention to them.
