All hands on deck, body

Hurricane Milton news brief
A single major hurricane is concern enough. A second one after another last week…no one can be prepared for this historic event.

The Gulf Coast is gonna be destroyed.

Meanwhile we are gonna do everything we can today to buffer ourselves from being ‘destroyed’.

On a plane to WDW, body

Flight chart at airport
We are the first flight out of Glacier Park International Airport.

Took the departure-board photo at 9:00 AM. To get from then until now, 30 minutes from Orlando Airport, spans 13 hours.

The journey to get home to prepare for Hurricane Milton has been complicated and uncertain.

To be on our descent fills us with gratitude.

Emergency return home, body

Airplane seats chart
Upper right displays Oct 6, 5:14AM.

Some context to our current predicament:

We recently booked our return flight home for October 19. We picked and paid for First Class. Reasons.

Can we change the Oct 19 flight for tomorrow, October 7? Today is Oct 6, who’s sunrise is in a couple hours.

Will there be any seats left?

Can we secure a hotel near the Glacier Airport tonight.

We’ll need to pack everything in the rental van and move it to our storage unit.

Will Lake Louise Inn refund our two unused nights from our early departure?

Banff Day 1, body

Late morning we start seeing the Canadian Rockies. Once we started saw them, we continuously saw them for a couple more hours, all the way to Lake Louise Inn. Our Inn is surrounded by mountains.

Feels good to see what others have raved about.

We can tell simply from the drive north that Banff is incredible.
