The need to grow, body

Waterfront view from a hotel room balcony at night
We lived here for weeks. A 1.5-mile walk to the Pacific Ocean.

Here we are, 14 months post retina-repair surgeries (there were two, 3-weeks apart). And a several-month Summer (2024) Glacier trip. Not to mention Cataract surgery in May. And you know what?

i’ve become flabby.

Thought Glacier would shred me and tone me.

Not this Summer.

i played it safe by backing off the gas peddle. Less miles. Lower intensity.

It’s literally disrespectful, if i’m being real with myself. This is my worst physical state in 25 years.

The great news?

i’m alive and lucid.

How cool is that?

i’m growing by adding this unprecedented life experience to my life resume.

Glacier 2024 thoughts, body

Sidewalk next to hedge
This morning’s reminder to where i placed my extra shirt.
There are exceptions where a five minute workout will be extraordinary. i pray i’m not an exception.

We experimented with spending most of our time in regions decently unfamiliar to us: Two Med and North Fork.

We took a calculated risk on feeling like ‘Glacier beginners’ in these new regions.

Blogging experiment update, body

Hawk close-up
This close is rare.

This current (2024) blogging experiment is morphing into something exciting.

Why?

After 6,000 days of writing five daily, differently-themed blog posts (30,000 posts by the way), all i know to write right now is that this excitement is a gut feeling.

Semi-related note: The official world record for the most blog posts by a single author is 17,212.

Now what, body

Instagram screen shot with creating habits tip
Personal vibrancy. i know what works.

An obvious focus.

A never ending focus.

A fanatical focus.

What’s next physically?

What’s next is getting vibrantly active again.

Note: The last two weeks in Glacier were colder than suits my taste. Tack on one week of hurricane Milton cleanup. Three weeks of low cardio.

Clean up like you mean it, body

Campfire
Cleanup and cooking fire. Win-win.

We are zoned so that a ‘cooking fire’ is okay.

The bed of coals is stunning after a hurricane because you have so much fuel.

We also collect, bag, box, tie, and drag tree debris to the road.

Our yard, like i’ve always said is our gym.
