Taking the day off, body

Table with gloves and garden clipper
Walked five additional miles simply doing yard work.

Taking the day off from blogging.

Yeah, like that is ever gonna happen.

So it’s 7:42 pm.

Sitting in bed.

Literally never blog in bed.

Listening to Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young’s Deja’ Vu album.

T-minus 5 days, body

Been thinking about how well the past couple weeks have been going with sets & reps for my no-gym gym workouts.

Aging teaches me that i must balance what my brain wants to do and says that i can do.

My Disney creativity (on high excitement-mode from all the Disney purging) is suggesting an exercise purge may be helpful.

It asks, “Would a week away from exercise be a blessing in disguise?”

And i’m thinking the pros and cons.

Pros:

  1. Rare, beneficial ‘extended rest to muscles, ligaments, tendons, etc.
  2. Spend that time enjoying the Paris to Normandy River Cruise in a way that doesn’t require an exercise commitment/distraction.

Cons:

  1. Can’t think of any that are real.

Aging is cool, body

personal vibrancy quote from Disney's Jeff Noel
Not only for being organized and fit, but for being emotionally peaceful, mentally optimistic, and feeling like an artist at work.
Huntsman Senior Games 2011
Let age be a number others worry about. This is from the Huntsman Senior Games in 2011. Utah. Chapin, not yet a teenager, accompanied me. i competed in the 800 & 1,500. Placed in top three in both 50-54 age-group races.
t-shirt with clever slogan about aging
Is aging gracefully easy? It depends.

Aging.

Advantage or disadvantage?

Like every question, whether in a Disney Institute classroom, or simply in your own head…

It depends.

It ALWAYS depends.

Yes, i know i’m shouting.

And you also know i lower case every “i” that i type, since forever ago. Not sure of when it started but it’s probably 15-20 years ago.

Blogging’s hidden blessing, body

Disney Institute Keynote Speakers
Back in 2008 when i wore sunglasses and contact lenses, and began blogging.

Dear Son, to me, blogging’s hidden blessing is its love for the writer.

When i write here on Lane.org, it’s like having a coach, a mentor, a best friend who has only my best (health) interests in their heart.

Me talking to me.

Coach to coach.

Mentor to mentor.

Best friend to best friend.

You know, simply typing the previous four sentences in about 10 seconds is remarkable to me.

Magic, even.

i like it.

Ps. Thank you, blogging.

One day it will, body

Life's 5 Big Choices - Mid Life Celebration
Life’s 5 Big Choices – BODY (upper right)

Repetition is the mother of all learning.

Mind, body, spirit, work, home…

One day it will.

What will?

One day will come.

And it reminds me of a Garth Brooks song…

If Tomorrow Never Comes.

Chapin, on this day, April 11, 2026, if tomorrow never comes, you absolutely need to know this…

i’ve dedicated my life, since you were born, to show you ‘True North’.

To me true north is personal vibrancy.

You’ll discover your own way.

Please remember that personal vibrancy is the connectedness of mind, body, spirit, work, and home.
