I mean absolutely no disrespect with this wellness post

Yesterday…

Me: Would you like to go to lunch for some chicken nuggets (Chick-fil-A reference)?

Friend: No, I have pop tarts. I need to lose 20 pounds.

Me: Pop tarts?

Friend: Yeah, I’ve gained 20 pounds in the past year.

Me: (can’t recall the rest of the conversation because we quickly moved on because we were both pressed for time)

I probably said some dumb thing like “the new pop-tart diet, eh?”

Inspiring others inspires the inspiring person

Thinking different doesn’t just apply to business

Friend: I’m taking your approach.

Me: Huh?

Friend: Began with one push up a day for a week and each week I’ve added one more push up per day.

Me: That’s great. How long have you been doing that?

Friend: Twelve weeks.

Me: So you’re doing 12 push ups a day?

Friend: Yes.

The skinny guy said something we rarely hear, but somehow can’t disagree with

Yo, you, yeah, the 2nd from left in front row, pay attention

The skinny guy, late 50’s, said something we rarely hear, but somehow can’t disagree with.

He said, “I’m down to 183. You know the last time I weighed 183? I was 20 years old.”

“And you know”, he continued, “they say what we weighed when we were 20 is probably our ideal weight.”

If this is true, it’s time for me (front row, 2nd from left) to drop 15 pounds.

Cab or walk from Cafe Du Monde back to Hyatt Regency?

Pressed for time to catch a flight home to Orlando, meant having no time to run and visit Cafe Du Monde. So I skipped the run and taxied to the French Quarter for beignets and coffee.

Beignets and coffee were a nice farewell breakfast…

If I leave now (8:20am), should be able to depart Hyatt by 9:15am. It’s a two-mile walk.
