Truth be told, taking great care of our teeth, particularly our gums, is one of the most beneficial daily chores we can do.

My professional life is built on evaluating organizational health.

To expertly look for obvious (and not so obvious) signs – signs that are invisible to those closest to the situation.

i still remind our Son (17) that what can sound like judgement from me is actually evaluation.

Never attempt to intentionally use guilt on others to motivate them to exercise, eat well, and sleep better.

However, do use guilt on yourself if you discover it’s effective.

Here’s my personal health evaluation on brushing and flossing.

In my life, i’ve experienced people close to me sharing that i made them feel guilty, and even worse, they feel i’ve labeled them lazy.

Here’s the thing that’s interesting to note.

Is there a correlation between being active and great oral health?

Conversely, is there a correlation between inactivity and poor oral health?

Regular exercise, meal planning and prep, as well as scheduled sleep and awaken times all take chunks of time.

Brushing and flossing is only a few minutes of the day, in the convenience of your bathroom.

If being lazy isn’t the reason for poor oral habits, what is?

The contrast is striking. Transfer the contrast to flossing nightly to never flossing.

 

Flossing is probably the last thing i want to do.

Flossing before bed can be the last thing i have the energy to do.

But i do it anyway.

Everyone knows flossing is the key for fighting gum disease.

Gum disease impacts our entire body in insidious ways.

Three or four minutes before bedtime.

Congratulations for understanding this and acting on it.

What a wonderful health habit.

Randomly, the intricate detail caught my eye though the camera’s zoom lense.

 

One of my seven wellness architectural blueprints is rest.

Primarily focused on sleep, it also relates to recovering from physical activity.

While sleep is perfect for recovery, so are scenic diversions from our daily routine.

Yesterday afternoon i made an intentional choice to get to the high school 30 minutes early (to pick up our Son) and sit on the bench by the office.

Three years ago, i used to do this every day.

My business wasn’t as busy then.

i had more time to spare.

Looking to take back more spare time.
