Glacier has published a 2026 goal to limit Logan Pass Continental Divide parking to three hours. It’s a goal, a hope. This hope will require a stunning set of unconventional processes that have never been tried.

i hope to take extended hikes from Logan Pass this summer (2026) like always.

i hope to not use the shuttle system to access Logan Pass. i do not trust Glacier’s shuttle system enough.

Hope is a great strategy, but a poor tactic.

Have already brainstormed alternative personal processes.

Untested.

But sound brainstorming based on abundant experience.

The inherent challenge is how to compete with other experienced annual hikers, potentially with the same creative solutions as me.

Like nearly everything, success is largely driven by “how bad do you want it?”

Habits are what we think and do, without thinking.

Daily sunset, and sunrise, watching is on my list of daily to-do’s.

Now that it’s been a lifetime habit, writing down a reminder is pointless.
