Here’s how Glacier 2026 played out physically…
Both of us arrived in Glacier as fit as active ‘senior’ living and moving 100′ above sea-level allows.
By the end of the second week, as expected, we got our mountain legs and lungs under us.
The persistent western wild-fire smoke and rain kept us off trail more than expected. We did not mind. That played out better than expected.
When our dear friends arrived for week three, we throttled back and guided them to the same hiking stair-step approach we used two weeks earlier.
This culminated with all four of us hiking the Piegan Pass Trail on their final day. Piegan Pass is our 2nd favorite Glacier hike.
