Why?

Church pancake breakfast
So much food on our plates.

This morning.

Heaviest i’ve been since i can’t remember when.

Why?

Like everything in life, there is an ebb and flow.

Figure out how to thrive in constantly changing conditions.

Simply an ordinary moment in time – a photo that will never win any contests.

Yesterday’s exercise was purely spiritual.

It was an incredible workout for the entire Family.

The times they are a changin’.

The only constant is change.

Embrace change or be miserable trying to hold onto the past.

We let go of our youthful health.

Why?

And those of us who refuse to let age change us, are we resistant to change?

Or are we change agents because we are changing the paradigm for an aging population?

First bike fall ever as an adult

Arlo Home Security Camera
One of four security camera companies i purchased from.

Rode a bicycle 25 miles roundtrip to visit a former Disney Institute colleague at Disney Institute for a 7am meeting yesterday.

To maximize my time while cycling, a phone call began at 6am as i peddled past our mailbox.

The fall (yes, fall, not call) came at 6:55am on a wooden boardwalk next to Highway 192 near Celebration Place.

Was on the phone (Skype) with a Disney College Program alumnus who moved to Australia to get out of her comfort zone.

Thank you Stephanie for being my only “witness”.

What’s astonishingly significant to me is the fact that i’ve bicycled the equivalent of twice around the Equator as an adult, never wearing a helmet.

On April Fool’s Day 2009, jeff noel began writing five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different sites). It was to be a 100-day self-imposed “writer’s bootcamp”, in preparation for writing his first book. He hasn’t missed a single day since.

A hole so deep it scares hope away

Quote about our body
From i love to run Facebook page.

Yesterday morning and this morning i’ve weighed in at the heaviest in several years.

i don’t like it.

And it reminds me how challenging wellness is.

Note: It’s always challenging, even when you are maintaining. But failing to maintain reminds you that your daily, determined efforts mean something.

Because without the daily focus (and struggle), you can quickly dig yourself into a hole deep enough to scare you out of having hope.
