Lane 8 “archived blogs” widget showing earliest posts began November 2008.

When did you write your first blog post?

Daily, before heading out for a run.

But the original first blog post?

Had to dig a little….

Started preparing for the website infrastructure in 2007.

Opened a GoDaddy account in early 2008.

Started buying domain names immediately.

The two photos above reveal MidLifeCelebration and Lane8 began November 2008.

This is fun to write about.

Three-week countdown, body

Disney Institute Keynote Speakers
Back in 2008 when i wore sunglasses and contact lenses, and began blogging.

Three-week countdown, body…

Physically, it’s literally impossible to comprehend the daily blogging effort.

The physical effort to wake up hours earlier than necessary to write and publish five daily, differently-themed blogs (on five different websites) before driving to Disney Institute. And i was already waking up extra early to be the first one in the classroom (and the last to leave at the end of the day).

Blogging started in 2008.

At Disney Institute i labeled my original, 2007, manila folder, “Web-Log”. This pre-dates the emergence of the word “blog”. For real.

That folder is where i put printed articles about this emerging self-publishing writing platform.

My original, and only, thought in 2007 was to harness this new, free, self-publishing platform as a marketing strategy for Disney Institute Facilitators to publish real time Disney Institute stuff.

Just one photo, body

Planned freedom, body

Swiftcurrent Vally. Looking East in this photo, The Great Plains are just over the mountain horizon. This photo location is literally on the Continental Divide.

Planned freedom is a concept anyone can take in any direction.

To me, planned freedom is investing in getting healthy and staying healthy. For a lifetime.

You’ll know physical freedom from your strength, stamina, flexibility, core, nutrition, rest, and motivation.

Note: The freedom you know, and experience, is proportional to the freedom you planned for.

Teach hope, body

mountains
From our Cabin’s back deck. Sunset. You can teach others to watch sunsets simply by your ritual of watching many of them yourself.

Teach hope…

Top priority…

Paramount…

Honor the temple housing everything keeping you alive.

Move, fuel, rest.

Do those three basics brilliantly.

  1. Move
  2. Fuel
  3. Rest

Even when society, at nearly every turn, tempts you not to.

In the absence of a relative or close friend who models this, become the model for those you love.
