Eating light because it was unplanned

Heading to the #1 tourist attraction.

Not sure how long we’ll stay so we hired a taxi driver on a per hour basis.

Our first stop of the day yesterday. The closer we got the bigger it got.

Eating light because it was unplanned.

The TEDxAUK speakers met at 6pm last night in the lobby. Mistakenly thought it was a one-hour meet and greet. It was a four-hour “rehearsal” and meet and greet.

It was wonderful. Inspiring.

Mind…blown.

The hunger from eating light is rarely felt because of America’s abundance and tendency for over-indulgence.

Feeling just hungry enough can be a great metaphor for being hungry enough to expend the focus and discipline required for a lifetime of healthy living.

Not much sleep but lots of endorphins

Emirates airlines Jet
This is special because it is a first in 60 years.

Not much sleep but lots of endorphins.

First time in Dubai.

This place is amazing.

And the people are wonderful.

Reminds me of home.

Tired and inactive begets more of the same

Hugh McLeod artist
Hugh McLeod’s email yesterday included this piece of art.

Tired and inactive begets more of the same.

The opposite is also true.

Our choice is obvious.

No?

i chose green

Swimming pool florida
Orange, green or blue?

i chose a green raft to sit on while practicing the TEDx Talk: Why going the extra mile is a flawed concept and what to do instead.

Came in at 22:30.

Four and a one-half minutes too long.

First time practicing without having to remember what comes next. This is a victory.

Now the art of trimming the fat as they say. We need lean and full of power.

Whenever you plan to do something super important, allocate twice as much time as you think you need. Everything takes longer than you think. Sure there are exceptions, but they’re rare.

Is the obesity crisis hiding a bigger, hidden problem?

Once in a while we stumble upon something truly remarkable.

Long standing traditional medical beliefs coupled with an intelligent, and authentic (doctor) presenter.

I know how busy everyone is (me too)… yet this 16-minute TED MED video is captivating on three deep levels:

  1. challenging medical ‘certainty’
  2. as a remarkable presenter
  3. as an authentic human being

This message humbles me.

Note: Further investigation led me to the comment thread from this TED MED video. Some folks thought completely differently than me – as if Peter was scamming. And I must say, his claim of exercising hard four hours a day with a day job is questionable (not impossible, but it did sound too good to be true).
