It’s been over four months since the first surgery. Over three months since the second.

In three days, i see Dr Kumar for another in a long list of follow-up exams.

Three days.

That’s 72 hours.

i end every Disney Keynote speech with a 72-hour challenge.

Most audience members (business leaders) are too busy and too overwhelmed to commit to a 72-hour challenge.

Why?

Unfocused.

i am directly focused on patiently, optimistically, humbly waiting for another encouraging update from Dr Kumar.

Hold ‘em

Traveling in a car, looking out the windshield from the backseat — Two hours of darkness.

Hold yourself accountable first (and forever) before you start projecting judgement on others.

Have worked hard over the decades to stop judging other drivers’ behavior. It’s paid off. Now, i pray a lot. Figuring every driver is going through a hell no one knows about.

Reps, in whatever domain, form habits.

New habits require serious adjustment.

But once you succeed, through repetition, the adjustment becomes the new normal. No extra effort is required once the new habit is normalized.

i cannot recall a time in my life where this wasn’t true. It’s always true. Bank on it.

Traveling was always a “have to do”.

Traveling meant i was gone from my Family.

Today we hit the road as a Family.
