It would be nice to have a chance

Two Dog Flats restaurant
Perhaps our favorite Glacier National Park restaurant.

Rather than a typical 6:30 AM breakfast, we pushed it back to 8:00 AM.

A late night, talking big life topics, led to an opportunity to sleep in.

i wake up at 5:00 AM every day so it didn’t gain me extra sleep.

Working in Glacier there’s no chance i’ll sleep late.

None.

Sometimes it would be nice to have a chance.

Big 11-miler yesterday

Team Mid Life Celebration, LLC scouting film locations.
We are here.
The horizon.
Iceberg Lake ahead.
Lovely. Inspiring.
Looking back from where were started.
Surrounded by inspiring views.

Big 11-miler yesterday to Iceberg Lake and back to Swiftcurrent.

This week is about building my team of contracted specialists.

Relationships, clarity, fun, vision, and doing work that matters is our focus.

i am reminded how important basic leadership functions are.

When Family is involved, you can think familiarity automatically enables others to read your mind.

It doesn’t.

Sleep equations

The mornings in Glacier National Park are spectacular. Photo from our lodge balcony.

Sleep has two primary equations.

  1. How’s your sleep quality?

Excellent.

  1. How’s your sleep quantity?

Below average.

Been getting seven hours, and some nights only six. Eight is optimal.

The math adds up in one equation but not in the other.

Work diligently to make the math work in both.

Even when working away from home.

Being present when you’re bored

Purple flowers but no rock, but not far from rocks. Just feet away from a previous photo, the foreground changes what i see.

Being present when you’re bored and tired can seem insignificant, impossible, and/or draining.

It doesn’t have to feel that way.

Knowing you were active, ate well and slept decently can, and should, create peace, gratitude, and introspection.

Milk that for everything it’s worth.

We are built to move

Hiking to Swift Current Fire tower
Hiking to Swiftcurrent fire tower.

We are built to move. Evolution has given humans this natural ability as a survival skill.

Our five-mile round trip, 1,700’ elevation gain hike was cut short by an approaching rainstorm. Pictured here is our turnaround point.

As we neared 8,000 feet, we felt deep gratitude for the temple that houses everything keeping us alive, and thriving.
