C-ya real soon, Glacier

So cool to witness with some snow.
In the shade, frost reminds us how cold it is.
The big three left to right, Reynolds, Heavy Runner, and Clements.

C-ya real soon, Glacier.

Thank you for the 45 minutes of sunshine as we drove Going to the Sun Road one last time.

Gym on Sunday?

Last night’s 5PM local news.

Gym on Sunday?

Not if we don’t get over Marias Pass before Snowmagedden arrives today.

Leaving St. Mary (Glacier’s East side) a day early (today, a Friday) to mitigate dangerous driving conditions.

August 23 was the last gym visit. Thirty-seven days is a long time to miss a gym-workout’s benefits.

Physical transformation

Angel Wing in center horizon, Cheryl closest to me.
Yesterday’s hike to Grinnell Glacier was 11 miles total.

Physical transformation happens slowly.

One day at a time.

Consistency.

Habit rethinking, reprioritizing, and recommitting.

The only shortcut is the long way.

Cheryl’s ability to navigate high mountain trails is remarkably different this year compared to previous years.

Favorable odds

A Grizzly sighting on the way to Watertown, Canada yesterday.

We had favorable odds that our shut out at Logan Pass might yield better weather on the East side, in particular, Canada.

Totally needed a hike of at least three miles.

Shut out by the wind, rain, and cold

Yesterday began, and stayed, cold, rainy, and super windy.
The stunning St Mary Valley mountain view is barely visible on the horizon.
Hours after this 7:00 AM photo, we tried to make hiking work, but the wind, rain, and cold were relentless.

Shut out by the wind, rain, and cold.
