Of course it is challenging

Rob Watson, my technology advisor, joined me in Glacier for a few days in 2019.

How would your health benefit, transform even, if you spent a few months walking (hiking) at high altitude?

Is another Summer (2020) in Glacier National Park possible?

Would i go there to work the entire Summer? What about half work and half personal time? What about all personal?

The past few days as i cancelled some reservations and booked some others, these questions are top of mind.

Leaning to mostly personal time.

Why?

Because it is opposite what i did this year.

How would my health respond?

Stress does weird things

Disney Institute Keynote Speaker
You can (and should) get and stay healthy.

Stress does weird things.

Yesterday morning after multiple 8-hour sleep nights, i needed a nap by 8:00 AM.

Totally confused by this.

Then, eureka!

There’s a lot going on in the background right now. More than usual.

Logic (and experience) tells me the stress is wearing me down.

100% on the second workout

A typical hike in Glacier is 10 miles with 2,000′ gain and 2,000′ descent.

Not sure why i was able to do the same thing i did over five weeks ago.

You take a break that long and you have to lose something – maybe even a lot.

Not this time.

The only difference is that while i missed going to a gym, i did not miss staying vibrantly active outdoors.

In the past, missing two weeks at the gym and it was almost like starting over. From this historical experience, i created a “no more than 10 days without a gym workout” rule.

At 10 days or less away, i was able to pick up exactly where i left off.

Are you on any meds?

Are you on any meds?

B12 and D3, vitamins.

Picked up refills yesterday along with a few super-foods.

Never get bored with the basics.

Dude, you surprised me

Our grocery store provides free fruit. This surprised me too.

Dude, you surprised me at the gym yesterday.

You literally, after a record five week absence, did your entire gym workout – normal weight, normal reps – with the exception of legs, which you did at normal weight but 80% number of reps.

Remarkable.

i would have bet against it.
