If your health habits were a photograph

Walking to the gym.

If your health habits were a photograph, would it look like the one above?

Somewhere in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, mine looked like this.

Why?

Got promoted at Disney and poured everything into learning how to lead.

It cost me my health.

Thank goodness i made a burn-the-ships commitment in 2000 to never again be unfit.

Should have known better

Just 24 hours ago.

Should have known better than to think i’d make it to the gym after a 7-hour drive (including stops) home.

So this Sunday morning after today’s five posts are written, guess what?

Anytime Fitness here i come.

Busy doing nothing

Sanibel Island beach view.

Busy doing nothing.

Spent most of the week being decently sedentary.

This will change as soon as we return to Walt Disney World today.

The week long break was not intentional but i decided not to fight it.

Would you do a half-marathon?

Last night. It looked like we would be shut out from seeing the sun.
We were delightfully surprised.

Would you do a half-marathon if no one knew you did it?

Think about your answer.

What if no one ever knew? No medal, no tee-shirt, and no photos to post on social media.

How motivating is that?

Motivation.

What if, for example, this happened…

…your first three (and only) half-marathons began and finished at your mailbox?

And no one ever found out.

Put the two together for Magic

These two travel together. Makes perfect sense. Photo: yesterday.

Peer pressure is your biggest challenge.

How much daily water do you normally drink?

How much did you drink at the beach?

How often do you make your bed at home?

How often did you make it at the beach?

Initiative is a key attribute for personal vibrancy.

Having fun is also key.

Find innovative ways to put the two together.
