Engage, inspire, dream

Highline Trail
So remarkable.

Highline Trail
Barren and beautiful.

Highline Trail offers amazing panoramas.

Highline Trail
Plenty of rock seating. The shaded rocks had a much cooler temperature than those baking in the sun.

Engage, inspire, dream – that’s what Highline trail facilitates.

There’s no escaping it.

Howard and i almost bumped into this Ram rounding a blind corner. We were making noise for bears, but Big Horn Sheep are affected.

This was my first time on this hike. Everything Howard did yesterday was a first.

Glass half-empty or half-full

Smokey Glacier National Park 2017
Have never seen GNP like this before. What a different perspective.

big horn sheep at Glacier
Nearing Logan Pass. Like 400 meters from the summit. First significant wildlife sighting.

As we climbed Going-To-The-Sun Road, we were rewarded in ways that impressed even me.

What’s my sleep number?

Delta seat chart
The good news? i’m still in 21C, but row 20 is directly in from of me. Why a big deal? i needed the under-seat storage for my backpack.

What’s my sleep number?

It’s 14 out of 15.

The number of nights getting eight hours of sleep.

Ironically, 16 nights ago i got only five. And, the guy sitting next to me on the plane works for Sleep Number.

What’s my seat number?

It’s 21C.

Paid extra to get closer to the front to ensure making the next connection.

i was intentional in making sure i had a seat directly in front so i had a place to stow my backpack. When you sit in an open area, you are forced to rely on overhead storage.

When you don’t fly frequently, you board much later and often overhead storage is full.

The seat map from yesterday (above) is wrong.

i was nervous, even though i worked hard beforehand to not be.

Play the hand you’re dealt.

Karma has no preference, you get to decide though

What you eat, how much sleep you get each night, how much exercise you get – these are things you need to control.

And when life feels like it’s out of control, it’s because you haven’t planned for the unexpected events that will come when you least expect them. It may also mean your motivation to be well isn’t strong enough to resist taking the easier, inactive path.

PS. It’s important to remember that amazingly positive things will also happen when you least expect them. The key, however, is to be able to weather the sudden, and sometimes prolonged, storms.
