Impossible Is Nothing
Here’s a quote, lifted from my Facebook updates:
“You go girl. I am doing the same thing with my bosses wife. We go at lunch time almost everyday. It is amazing what a walk a day can do for you.”
It’s amazing what walking can do, if you do it.

Temptation Is Everywhere...
Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is exceedingly challenging.
Anyone who tells you differently is lying.
These 12 tips may help you overcome your next little urge to quit, simply by helping you remember where our human weaknesses dwell.
Don’t do it.
Do not quit.
You can do it.
It will be difficult.
But years from now, you’ll be so glad you never gave up.

A Decade To Make The USA Team
If you’re like most people, you’re set in your ways. You talk about change, and you can easily see what others need to change, and in fact, you openly talk about those people behind their back, not because you’re mean, but simply because you are weak.
Courageous people anger others. Courageous people don’t intend that anymore than you do. We are all human, and therefore, we succumb to temptation long before we are willing to fight the good fight.
If you don’t fight for your health, who will?
If you don’t start fighting for your health today, then when?
So, as you watched yesterday’s You Tube video, rather than see some old guy showing off, remember that I couldn’t even get my legs to parallel for one second. Not even one second. Are you paying attention?
There is hope for you, but you must do two things. See you tomorrow.

Find A Millions Ways To Stay Motivated
Ever cross paths with someone you haven’t seen in a while and they look great?
And you ask the question, “You look great, what have you done?”
And they say, “I started eating better and exercising regularly.”

Title Or Rank Don't Provide Immunity
Be kind to everyone you meet, for everyone single one of us is carrying a heavy load.
There was no exercise yesterday. Too many other things took priority.
Not only is diet and exercise challenging, but so is not letting too many tough days happen in a row. Don’t do it.

Public Parks Are Designed To Help You
Ever have a friend who asks you for your advice?
I mean, over and over again? Gets old doesn’t it?
What they should do, health-wise, is so painfully obvious.
They know it. You know it. Even a young child knows it.
To know is to do. To know and not do, is to not yet know. To my friend from yesterday, who’ll probably never read this, and to anyone else in denial – figure it out.

Lane 8 In Finland 2009
Last night I experimented with a WordPress front page “sticky post”. This allows bloggers to indefinitely keep a certain blog post as the very first post. Like a sticky note.
If it works, regular Lane 8 readers will see the same “Welcome to Lane 8″ post indefinitely. This is really for first time readers to give them a quick look at what Lane 8 is about. All you’ll have to do is simply scroll past it each time you visit, to get the daily Lane 8 post.
Do you experiment? At work? At home? With your diet? With your exercise routine? With your rest? With your motivation?
We all know that experimentation and creativity are the keys to innovation. What grade do you give yourself for practicing what you preach?
Anyone on the honor roll this semester?

You Can Do It
There are somewhere in the neighborhood of 80-million blogs on the Internet, and growing daily.
There are 221-million results if you Google “Health Blogs”.
What are all these health-blog people trying to say? Please let me summarize for you:
- Dream Big
- Get There
- Stay There
If your goal isn’t impossible, you’re not reaching high enough.
PS. Do your excuses make you stop or make you sick? Mine made me sick. Sick to think that I’m the only one responsible for my actions and I wasn’t doing anything about it, except making excuses.
Excuses be damned.

Know Your Numbers
Did you know that if you don’t know these numbers (below), there are people like me who question your intelligence?
Do you know your:
- Body weight
- HDL & LDL cholesterol
- Blood pressure
- Resting heart rate
- Triglycerides
- BMI (body mass index)
These are the bare minimum numbers you should know and manage. If you feel uncomfortable with today’s tone, good.
You can wait for your wake up call, or you can anticipate it and manage it before it gets out of control. People who nag you about your health love you.
You knew that right?
